Healthy Chocolate Banana "Ice Cream"

One of my favorite things to do is morph a decadent and un-healthy recipe and give it new life as  something that's actually good for you. So when I feel like eating something that would usually leave me feeling guilty and cavity-ridden, I can instead have something healthful and just as full of yum. Since I have an obsessive tendency to have mounds of bananas at all times, this often leads to banana overload, and I have to find ways to use them other than the normal peel and eat. This indulgent and awesome healthy "ice cream" of sorts is actually pretty good for you, and satisfies the craving for sweets without you having to scour the internet for Pilates classes out of shame while you spoon it on into your face.

Chocolate Banana "Ice Cream"

-2 ripe bananas, frozen
- 1 T. maple syrup
-2 T. cocoa powder
-1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
-2 T. whipped heavy cream ( If desired)
*1 serving
Directions: Combine bananas, maple syrup and cocoa powder in a food processor and blend until smooth. Serve or place in freezer  until ready to devour.  Add chocolate chips or whipped cream if desired.

That's right,  this tasty frosty treat is packed with antioxidants and good fats. It squashes even the evil Culver's custard cravings  when I have a sweet tooth. I've experimented with this recipe so many ways, but this is the favorite of all. Since it's supposedly going to be warm someday, ice cream is always good for dessert too. Enjoy!
