I left feeling a bit pissed off that they are able to demand such things of me, and wondering how they will use the private results of my physical to judge what coverage they'll dole out if I had something health-wise happen. I realize that lifestyle choices make people's health suffer, trust me. That's why I choose to do the best I can to be healthy. I just don't like having my personal info used. That's the end of this rant, it just really bugged me!
Tonight I'm going to my first Brewfest, and one of my all-time favorite bands The Dropkick Murphy's are playing, so I'm super duper exited! Like my friend Stephanie who I'm going with said, "We'll be like kids in a beer candy store". In preparation of our beer drinking, punk rock dancing night I've been hydrating and filling up with as many vitamins and minerals as I can. I also recently found a super fun blog http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/ that has been a great inspiration for a vast array of really healthy dessert recipes, so I've been trying to come up with some really, truly healthy sweet treats. You can't beat indulging in goodies while doing your body good!
Raspberry Mango Frozen Yogurt
(four servings)
-1 cup frozen raspberries
-1 cup frozen mangoes
- 1 cup chilled brewed green tea
-1 cup vanilla yogurt
-1 T. agave nectar or honey
-1 t. ground cinnamon
Directions: In blender combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Place in freezer safe container and freeze until solid, up to 6 hours. Serve cold.
Oh man, I love this stuff.
So sweet and rich tasting, and every single ingredient is awesome for you. It just doesn't get any better than that.
And it's a cinch to make and have on hand for a fancy dessert for an impromptu dinner party or happy hour at home with friends. Enjoy!
