Banana Nutella Smoothie

There are certain kitchen counter items that I cannot seem to leave alone. Here are a few of them:
1. Croutons. Crunchy, salty, just a handful... or five.......
2. Red wine. Just a 4oz.glass, right? Ahahahaha, or two...
3. Oreo cookies, or as I lovingly nick-named them, yucky yum cookies. They're dastardly, and I forbid the boy from bringing them into the house.
4. Seaweed in any form.... There are these delightful tamari and wasabi flavored seaweed sheet crackers that will blow your cotton-picking mind, and I cannot stop once I've started. The boy and I hide them from one another because we covet them so. I'm not sure if he knows I know.......
5. Nutella. As you probably guessed if you read my last post, I've been into the Nutella jar lately, and I can't get it off my mind.
I was craving something sweet today, and also hadn't had much fruit, and my 5-7 servings were begging to be met. The Nutella jar glistened in the sun on my counter, calling my name in a sweet little voice "Kaaaala! Make something with me!!!!!!" and I had to abide.  Nutella on a banana? Nutella on a cracker with bananas? A banana with a spoonful of Nutella on the side?  My mind was reeling... Then, a light bulb burst in my tired brain; A smoothie! So I pulled a banana out of my freezer banana bread stash and threw some stuff in the blender, and the results were pretty rockin' if I do say so myself!

Banana Nutella Smoothie
-1 large frozen banana
-2 T. Nutella
-1 cup almond, soy or cow's milk ( I used almondmilk and it was GREAT)
-1 T. agave Nectar
-1/2 t. cinnamon
Directions: Combine all ingredients in blender and pulse until combined.

It kinda looks like chocolate milk, but it totally tastes like magic. Hazelnut and almond are a fantastic combination, and the chill of the banana gave it a malt-like texture.

A night cap of Banana Nutella smoothie? Beats red wine, well, almost......
Cheers!

If only I had the camera ready when I handed a glass to the unsuspecting boyfriend, who thought it was a glass of plain chocolate almondmilk... His eyes about bugged out of his head with glee! And it's a fairly healthy treat, the Nutella has a good deal of fat from the hazelnuts, but that's par for the course with nuts. Now I'm going to put away the Nutella.
Until breakfast anyway.....
