Mango with White Chocolate and Red Pepper

I would bet I look pretty shady whenever I set food inside a candy shop or a bakery, as I stare at all the desserts and confections with my pocket magnifier. Its like when a secret shopper at Target once asked me if I needed help, (I'm almost certain they thought I was stealing , as the guy followed me for a  half hour not very deftly I might add )because I barely ever buy anything, but look at and touch almost everything.I just told the snoopy jerk I had OCD and had to touch a certain amount of things every time I went to Super Target, and it's kind of a sensitive subject. The reply was weird enough to get him to quit following me, and only about half true..... I probably look shady  because I almost never buy a single Jelly Belly at a candy shop, but rather peruse all the concoctions and make mental lists of things I can make on my own, for generally less than half of what they're charging. Then I fly out the door as quickly as I can to get to a store and purchase the groceries I need to make new, fun treats. I saw something similar to this recipe at a fancy candy shop for a pretty penny, though it's super easy to make for SUPER cheap.

Mango with White Chocolate and Red Pepper

- 10 slices of dried mango ( can be found in grocery stores in the bulk aisle often or by trail mix)
-1 cup white chocolate  ( I used Ghiradelli)
-1 /4 t. cinnamon
-1 T. red pepper flakes
-Directions: Melt white chocolate in microwave in a bowl in 15 second increments, stirring often. Be careful, white chocolate scorches very easily. When melted, stir in cinnamon. Dip mango slices in white chocolate and lay on a parchment paper covered plate. Sprinkle red pepper flakes on strips, chill 1 hour. Store in air tight bag or in fridge.

The cinnamon in the white chocolate give it a sweet, rich taste that is great with the chewy
mango. The red pepper adds a touch of heat and complexity.

A  great light dessert for after a home-cooked meal that has some spice to it, like Indian or Mexican.

A very simple homemade treat for a gift for a  friend too, as they are quite a cute little snack.

Often I get asked to bring rich desserts to dinner parties, and everyone is always too stuffed to eat it at the end of it all. This is a simple and light end note to a delicious dinner when you are somewhat full but want a sweet little treat.
