There are many decisions in this life that are incredibly difficult. When to buy a house, when to propose, when to move to Alaska or Bermuda, and what on earth to do with 35 almost perfectly ripe bananas...
These organic yellow-brown gems come from the free produce bin at my work, and bananas are like puppies to me, just begging to be taken home and cherished. Their "equal exchange" stickers are like little eyes saying " Come hither, you know you want me, if you could only figure out what to do with me...".Now, I've always considered myself a fairly creative being, but after toiling away my little baker hands in a hot crowded kitchen all the live long day, I can feel a bit tapped on the ole' creative baking juices. So now a line-up of my most beloved fruit sits on the counter staring me down, just begging me to do something to them before the fruit-flies come a knocking, and their existence will have been in vain, never to be relished in a banana walnut cupcake or a banana split... I guess I need some inspiration to turn these into something. Banana bread seems a little too obvious, and contrived to boot...Anyone have suggestions on how to use these lil' fellers up before they join the ranks of 8 pounds of Rhubarb in my freezer, possibly never to reach their true destiny in a bananas foster or Banana and PB sandwich??
