Like most of you out there, I've got a very specific morning regimin. I wake up at the crack of dawn, (5 a .m.) and zombie walk my way to the coffee pot to press "start". I then proceed to drink 1.75 cups of coffee, get dressed, eat a tiny breakfast, then run off to work. Out of the interest of a new breakfast fare, I recently started having smoothies for breakfast. Such a nice way to start the day, chock full of veggies and fruits. I realized the best way to go about this particular early morning liquid feast was to get all the ingredients in a glass, then simply blend and go. The result is a super-charged Kala at work. I think I like her.
Banana Almond Oatmeal Smoothies
-1 medium banana
-1 cup almond milk
- 1/3 cup. almond butter
-1/3 cup oats
Directions: Blend all ingredients and enjoy!
Rich nutty almond milk and creamy almond butter make this as hearty as it is healthy. It's a very filling smoothie, and keeps me revved up all morning long. Enjoy!
